RUSSIAN TROOPS IN IRAN? GOG & MAGOG BIBLICAL PROPHESY?

Alan Preface:

Mohammad Mossadegh, a high level member of the previous Qajar dynasty had little nationanlism but lots of family hidden agenda and wanted to depose the Shah and reinstate the Qajars. To achieve this he sold Iran's soul to the Soviets and the Communist Tudeh Party plus demanded UNCONSTITUTIONAL powers from the Shah such as being appointed Commander of the armed forces, which no Prime Minister had ever had.

Iranian Prime Ministers were NOT elected by the people but APPOINTED by the Shah so Mossadegh's supporters cannot claim he was popularly elected by the people. In fact when the Shah decided to appointment him, Mossadegh insisted he would only accept if the Soviets gavetheir approval.

Mossadegh tried to invalidate the Pahlavi dynasty as usurpers of the Qajars and not elected by the people.

He forgets - as do so many apologists for this treacherous man, that Reza Shah, initially did not want to become a monarch and planned to establish a Republic.

The Iranian Parliament and the Mullahs at the time, all protested and insisted that the top position could not traditionally be anything but a monarch. So he accepted.

As far as legitimacy, when Reza Shah went to Parliament to receive an official vote, the people did not carry him on their shoulders - THEY carried his CARRIAGE on their shoulders with him in it!

Mossadegh hated the Pahlavis as his agenda, what does Ahmadi-Nejad the Turd hate so much that he is handing the country to the Russians?

ALSO : pictures of Reza Pahlavi appearing in Iran - a good start .

Other than everyone and everything there except the Jamkaran well down which the teenage 12th Imam disappeared some 1,400 years ago and needs to be enticed back with bloodshed, suffering, death and misery to redeem the world!

READ ON FOR A PRESSING REASON TO REMOVE THE MULLAHS BEFORE THEY OFFICIALLY REVIVE DEAD TREATIES WITH THE SOVIETS. and finally hand the country to Russia - lock, stock and oil barrel.

Why is the leadership in Tehran anxious to give Russia the right to land troops in Iran?

By Amir Taheri

The question is not fanciful. The Islamic Republic is conducting a devious campaign to prepare public opinion for that eventuality.

The message is relayed through deliberately vague terms that diplomats understand immediately while the general public does not.

The device is to revive two treaties that most students of Iranian history thought were dead and buried long ago.
The first is the 1921 Treaty that the government of Sayyed Ziauddin Tabatabai, soon after coming to power in a putsch, signed with Vladimir Lenin’s Bolshevik regime.

At the time the Bolsheviks had some troops in the Iranian province of Gilan on the Caspian Sea, supporting a rebellion led by a leftist mullah known as Mirza Kuchak Khan of the Jungle. At the same time, the British were using Iranian territory to ferry troops and materiel to anti-Bolshevik nationalist forces in Transcaucasia.

Under the treaty, Lenin agreed to cancel the debts Iran had accumulated towards the Tsarist Empire. He also undertook to withdraw his troops from Gilan. The treaty revised relations in the Caspian Sea, granting Iran greater rights of fishing and navigation.

That amounted to a generous gesture towards Tabatabai’s new government that, still fragile, needed all the good news it could get in relations with the major powers.

Nevertheless, as always when a weak nation makes a pact with a much larger neighbour, the treaty had a sting in its tail. It gave the Russians the right to land troops in Iran when and if troops of any other foreign power arrived in Iran.

At the time it was Britain that Lenin had in mind. For his part, Tabatabai wanted to use the threat of Russian military intervention as a means of forcing the British to end their military presence in Iran.

However, in one of those twists of history, the treaty was never used for its original purpose. The British soon abandoned their anti-Bolshevik allies whom they found too weak to defeat Lenin’s new empire.

Lenin, for his part, believing he could add Iran to his empire through ideological agitation rather than conquest, abandoned the Mullah of the Jungle and withdrew the Soviet troops.

In 1941, however, Soviet troops, this time under Stalin, invaded Iran.

The legal pretext was the 1921 treaty. Soviet propaganda claimed that the presence of a few German military experts and, possibly, spies, in Tehran amounted to a foreign hostile force on Iranian soil.

Reza Shah, the Iranian monarch, had refused to kick the Germans out, possibly in the hope that Hitler would defeat Russia and Britain, Iran’s two principal enemies for 150 years.

Within days of the Soviet invasion, backed by a British invasion of Iranian territory from Iraq, Reza Shah was forced into exile.

The new Iranian government, under Prime Minister Muhammad-Ali Forughi, had to accept the legality of the invasion under the 1921 Treaty.

Nevertheless, both sides felt that a new treaty was needed to determine the status of Soviet troops in Iran.

Negotiations were railroaded at top speed, with the British supporting the Soviets in the name of their alliance against Nazi Germany.

The Iranian side, weak and disorganised in a country under foreign occupation, protested. But, with Soviet and British guns pointed at its head, it ended up signing the 1941 Treaty.

The new treaty, recalling that of 1921, reaffirmed the right of the USSR to send troops to Iran if and when Moscow felt it was threatened by a third power’s presence in Iran.

The two treaties entered Iran’s diplomatic memory as black moments in history. Abbas-Ali Khalatbari, Iran’s Foreign Minister between 1971 and 1978, described them as “two bleeding wounds in our heart.”

In 1946, as Stalin’s troops were forced to leave, the Shah declared the two treaties “dead and buried”. But, facing a strong Soviet-backed Communist Party and its allies, he was too weak to ask the parliament to formally cancel the treaties.

In 1963, the Soviets launched a campaign to revive the treaties.

They claimed that the arrival in Iran of American military instructors, invited to help build the new Iranian air force, amounted to “a foreign hostile presence” under the terms of the treaties.

The Iranians ignored the Soviet campaign and, on a number of occasions, announced a unilateral cancellation of the treaties.

The most significant official move to cancel the treaties came after the fall of the Shah.

In 1980, Ibrahim Yazdi, a US citizen of Iranian origin serving as Khomeini’s Foreign Minister, solemnly announced that the newly created Islamic Republic did not recognise the treaties.

A diplomatic seesaw battle ensued in which the Iranian side stood by Yazdi’s declaration.

The matter rested in limbo, with most experts agreeing that the treaties were dead, until the fall of the Soviet Empire in 1991.

After that neither side mentioned the treaties, presumably because both agreed that accords between two fallen regimes could not apply in radically changed circumstances.

So, one can imagine the surprise caused by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s decision to suddenly start speaking of the two treaties as if they were still valid.

He and his aides, including Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motakki, have mentioned the treaties with regard to the status of the Caspian Sea and the application by the Islamic Republic to join Russia and China in the Shanghai Group, an informal framework for security cooperation.

Motakki has gone further by suggesting that Iran abandon the Persian name for the Caspian Sea, that is to say the Sea of Mazandaran, and adopt the Russian name mentioned in the treaties.

To sweeten Russia further, Motakki has also hinted at abandoning Iran’s demand for a 20 per cent share in the Caspian’s resources, settling, instead, for just over 11 per cent.

Why is an administration that pretends it has a mission from the “Hidden Imam” to liberate the whole world keen to give Russia a licence to land troops in Iran?

Obviously, only Ahmadinejad and his associates know the full answer. However, one could speculate that the Khomeinist president has decided that a war with the United States is inevitable.

In such a war, the Americans may well seize Iran’s oilfields, an easy target for a surprise attack and a difficult asset for defenders to protect.

Once that happens Russia could land troops in northern Iran and then go to the United Nations to ask for a generalised ceasefire and the fixing of a timetable for the withdrawal of “all foreign troops from all Iranian territory.”

The US would come under global pressure to cooperate with Russia in ending the conflict and paving the way for the departure of foreign troops and the restoration of Iranian sovereignty.

If that is how Ahmadinejad thinks, he has just returned to 1921 and Sayyed Ziauddin Tabatabai in an Iran as weak and as vulnerable. And that, for a man whose ambition is to lead mankind on a new path away from that fixed by “American Arrogance,” is not something to be proud of.

AMERICAN ISLAM IN ACTION - OPPRESSIVE FANATICS

Terrorism Bos Smith
April 29, 2008

Don’t snap a photo of the Masjid At-Taqwa in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn (America not Pakistan) unless you want to be hauled away by a group of angry Muslims in Islamic attire to the basement of the facility where a group of twenty “security guards” in karate suits will interrogate you.

This might sound preposterous. But it happened on Saturday, April 24, at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Ali Kareem, the head of security for Siraj Wahaj’s mosque, conducted the grilling. A small, muscular man with a wispy black beard that has been dyed red with henna, Kareem demanded to know the reason why a trio of kafirs had dared to photograph the building on a public street without securing his permission.

He further insisted on securing our identities and obtaining our motives for such a violation of Islamic space.

Being surrounded by a group of militant guards in a mosque basement from which there is no means of escape is not a comforting place to be for a Wall Street financier.

We tried to explain that we found the neighborhood with its halal meat vendors and food stores; Islamic dress shops, featuring the latest styles in burqas and hijabs; Muslim souvenir outlets, replete with
bumper stickers stating “Don’t Be Caught Dead Without Islam”; and Middle Eastern restaurants offering a variety of goat dishes to be rather quaint and interesting.

This explanation was not sufficient.

Kareem was impatient and did not want a detailed explanation of the reason for our excursion (simple sight-seeing) or a graphic account of the sights we had seen and photographed.

“I ask the questions here,” he said, “and you provide the answers.”

Realizing that we were in a bit of a pickle, my companion explained that we were interested in various religions and knew Siraj Wahaj, the imam of the mosque, was a prominent Muslim figure whom we would like to interview for a news outlet.

This didn’t work too well since we could not produce a business card from a wacko blog, let alone credentials from a national publication.

At last, we blurted out that we were admirers of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) and wanted to obtain information about conversion. We were even knowledgeable enough to blurt out “Salaam” and “Allahu akbar.”

The last utterance seemed to be the “Open Sesame” that got us out of the basement and back to Bedford Street, where we managed to
take a picture of the mosque before hailing a cab and making a getaway.

The experience was disconcerting. Surely, anyone who takes a picture of St. Patrick’s Cathedral or the Riverside Church is not hauled off to a basement for questioning by a threatening figure in a karate uniform and a band of Ninjas.

What is taking place within Masjid At-Taqwa? Why do AMERICAN authorities PERMIT this terrorist behavior?

And what about Siraj Wahaj, the celebrated imam of this mosque who claims to be a moderate?

Masjid At-Taqwa at 1226 Bedford Street was an abandoned clothing store, which Wahaj purchased at an auction in 1979 for $30,000 with cash from oil-rich Saudis. The interior is divided into spacious, windowless rooms that have been painted green and beige.

At Friday afternoon prayers the meeting room is crammed with hundreds of congregants. Some show up in do-rag stocking caps and Sean John sweatshirts; others wear finely embroidered, authentic-looking Muslim caps and flowing robes of crimson and gold.

About half of the attendees are African-Americans. The others are immigrants from the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. Worshipers range from Brooklyn street bums to the local celebrities, such as former heavy-weight champion Mike Tyson.

The place has played host to a number of notorious exponents of radical Islam, including Clement Rodney Hampton-El (Dr. Rashid), a key player in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Mr. Hampton-El is presently cooling his heels in a federal slammer since he was found guilty of seditious conspiracy.

Mr. Hampton-El, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, fought as a mujahadeen under Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in the holy war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

Upon his return, Hampton-El was hailed as a hero by members of the mosque. Imam Wahaj has said that he was sought out by young and old alike for spiritual advice as an “elder” in the community. Wahaj, in fact, appeared as a character witness for Hampton El when the former mujahadeen stood trial before Judge Michael Mukasey in New York’s Federal District Court on charges of seditious conspiracy and attempted bombing.

Hampton-El is currently serving thirty-five years in a supermax prison for America’s most dangerous inmates.

Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman visited Masjid At-Taqwa on many occasions while serving as the imam of the nearby
Masjid al-Fooqra at 554 Atlantic Avenue, several blocks from Masjid At-Taqwi. On the second floor of Rahman’s mosque, al Qaeda had opened an office under the name of the al-Kifah Refugee Center. It became a favorite haunt for members of Wahaj's congregation.

Rahman also spoke on occasion at Masjid At-Taqwa. In one speech, the fiery sheikh suggested that Muslims should rob banks to benefit Islam.

In 1995, Sheikh Rahman was hauled into court as the alleged architect of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and for planning to blow up the United Nations, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington Bridge, and buildings throughout Manhattan.

At his side was his good friend Siraj Wahaj who provided testimony of the sheik’s sterling character.

In a Feb. 2, 1995, letter to defense lawyers in the landmarks-bombing case, then-U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White named about 170 people as "un-indicted persons who may be alleged as co-conspirators." Imam Wahaj was on the list.

Other infamous characters reportedly have made their way to the Bedford Street mosque, including Imam Gulshair el-Shukrijumah, whose son Adnan has been singled out by the Justice Department as “the next Muhammad Atta.”

Gulshair, it turns out, served a stint as imam at another radical Brooklyn mosque – the now defunct Masjid Nur a-Islam, at 21 Church Street.

Another visitor, according to informed sources, was Sheikh Gilani, the founder of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, who served as the imam of yet another Brooklyn mosque – the Yasin Masjid at 777 Saratoga Avenue.

This infamous mosque is now a beauty salon. From 1980 to 1995, it served as a recruiting center for the jihad and for paramilitary Islamic compounds that remain in existence throughout the country.

Since the time of its inception, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has been responsible for more terror attacks on American soil (30 and counting) than all other terrorist groups combined.

Members of ul-Fuqra, which maintains headquarters in Pakistan, have been convicted in US courts of such crimes as homicide, conspiracy to commit murder, firebombing, gun smuggling, grand theft, counterfeiting, and workers’ compensation fraud.

Others remain leading suspects in criminal cases throughout the country, including ten unsolved assassinations and seventeen fire-bombings. Some of the better-known adherents of ul-Fuqra are Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, and John Allen Muhammad, the Beltway sniper.

But what of Wahaj? Is he an exponent of radical Islam – a man who poses a threat to millions of Americans?

He is a well-known and welcome figure in Washington DC. He was the first Muslim cleric to offer the invocation at the opening session of Congress.

He has dined with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and serves on the boards of no less than five major Muslim organizations.

He has received commendations from the Brooklyn police for eradicating crime from the Bedford-Stuyvesant area.

In 2003, Siraj Wahaj Day was celebrated in Brooklyn in recognition of what one borough official called a “lifetime of outstanding and meaningful achievement.”

But the proof of the real Wahaj is in the proverbial pudding.

In one of his sermons, Wahaj announced that the "real terrorists" are the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency.

In another, he said, "In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam."

He proclaimed that a society governed by strict Islamic law, in which adulterers are stoned to death and apostates beheaded, would be vastly superior to American democracy.

To a Muslim audience in New Jersey, Wahaj advocated the idea of Muslims forming a coup to take control of the federal government. “If we are united and strong,” he said, “we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him.

Take my word for it, if six to eight million Muslims united in America, the country will come to us.”

His so-called “moderate” interpretation of the Qu’ran became clear by this remark: "If Allah says 100 strikes, 100 strikes it is. If Allah says cut off their hand, you cut off their hand. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it's the obedience of Allah and his messenger – nothing personal."

Wahaj informed an audience of black women wearing Muslim head coverings in Orlando, Fla., that Islam condones a man's marrying up to four wives, and that this rule, when introduced in the seventh century, served as a restriction on arrangements involving even more wives per husband.

And there are the national organizations to which Wahaj remains affiliated. He served as emir (president) of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which has been charged with funneling millions to terror groups, and as an advisory board member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been labeled by author and counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson as a “radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas.”

All this may be well and good, save for the fact that Wahaj and his mosque retains a small army not of brown-shirts but black-belts who now claim the right to collar ordinary citizens on the sidewalk and to haul them off for interrogation.

You’re only safe in Brooklyn at this writing if you say your prayers – meaning, of course, the Basmalah.

ISLAM & IRAN IN ACTION AGAIN

How in heaven or hell can anyone support this mindless fanaticism? Hey, Dhimmis! Take a look at what you are protecting and promoting by supporting Sharia!

Wake up America at the deadly asp you are sheltering in your sleeve pretending to be a "religion" of peace!

A teenage Iraqi girl who fell in love with a British soldier when he was in Basra was murdered by her father in an "honour killing", it was revealed today.

Rand Abdel-Qader, 17, was suffocated and then hacked at with a knife after her family discovered she was friends with the 22-year-old soldier who she knew only as Paul.

The pair first met when Rand was working on an aid project for displaced families but it is thought the soldier is unaware of the girl's fate.

She was stamped on, suffocated and stabbed - leaving her with
puncture wounds all over her body, including her face.

Her own mother, Leila Hussein, has spoken out about the crime, revealing how her husband called out that he was cleansing "his honour" as he carried out the murder.

She told the Observer he was arrested after the brutal murder but was released without charge two hours later because it was an "honour killing".

"He was released two hours later because it was an 'honour killing'. And unfortunately that is something to be proud of for any Iraqi man," she told the paper.

Rand claimed she was in love from the first moment she met the soldier, who had been working alongside her on an aid project where she was volunteering.

She immediately told her best friend she was dreaming they could have a future together.

Five months on, she was brutally killed and buried without the traditional mourning ceremony in a mark of her "impurity".

Her uncles are also said to have spat on her body because of the shame they felt she had brought on the family.

The fact her relationship with the British soldier she knew as Paul was entirely innocent was not enough to save her.
According to the Observer, she was seen conversing intimately with him and because he was a British "invader" and the enemy, this could not be tolerated.

The pair last saw each other in January but her father, Abdel Qader Ali did not learn of their friendship until two months later on March 16.

He was told by a friend that his daughter had been seen with the soldier and stormed home to confront her.

Ms Hussein described to the paper how he was in a complete rage and trembled as he asked Rand if the story was true, before starting to hit her repeatedly.

She said: "She started to cry, she was nervous. He got hold of her hair and started thumping her again and again.

"I screamed and called out for her two brothers so they could get their father away from her. But when he told them the reason, instead of saving her they helped end her life."

Qader Ali had used his own feet to press down on Rand's throat until she stopped breathing before cutting at her body with a knife, she said.

Sgt Ali Jabbar of Basra police said: "Not much can be done when we have an 'honour killing'. You are in a Muslim society and women should live under religious laws."

Ms Hussein has now divorced her husband and is in hiding under the care of a charity for fear of reprisals from his family for speaking out.

A charity spokeswoman said: "She has been threatened by her husband's family and is very scared."

The Ministry of Defence is thought to be trying to track down the soldier, who is believed to have no idea his friendship with Rand might have put her at risk.

There is no official policy on advising troops how to behave with Iraqi women when they are deployed to the country.

An MoD spokeswoman said: "They are not told: don't go and fall in love."

The murder is believed to be the first "honour killing" in the war-torn country involving a British soldier.

But there were 47 such killing of young women in Basra alone last year and just three convictions, according to the city's Security Committee.

ALSO

Five British hostages who were kidnapped in Iraq almost a year ago are being held inside Iran by Revolutionary Guards, according to two separate sources in the Middle East and London.

The hostages were handed over to the Revolutionary Guards by their Iraqi kidnappers last November, the sources believe. One of the sources said they were being held in the western Iranian city of Hamadan.

If confirmed, the involvement of Revolutionary Guards would be seen as evidence that senior figures in the Iranian government had backed the decision to hold them in the country.

However, British officials said that while there had been rumours that the five were in Iran, they had seen no evidence to support the idea.

The hostages are said to be in good physical shape but spending much of their time in solitary confinement.

According to one of the sources, they are under the control of Mohammad Safaei, 41, a senior Revolutionary Guard colonel who was previously in charge of special operations in the southern Iraqi city of Basra.

The hostages were kidnapped in Baghdad last May in an attempt to force the Americans to release Qais al-Khazaali, an Iraqi militia leader said to be close to the Revolutionary Guards.

Khazaali was apparently being groomed by Iran to take control of a breakaway faction of the Mahdi Army, a Shi’ite militia, that would be compliant with Tehran.

A former chief spokesman for the Mahdi Army, Khazaali was arrested by US troops after masterminding a raid inside a base in which five US soldiers were killed. The Americans have refused to release al-Khazaali in exchange for the British hostages.

One of the sources, who has close links to the Revolutionary Guard, said the captors were looking for a face-saving way of freeing them. They have suggested the hostages write to church leaders in the UK asking for assistance in gaining their release, the source said.

The five were abducted from the Iraqi finance ministry, where one of them, Peter Moore, a computer specialist, was teaching data-processing. The other four were his bodyguards.

The suggestion that the hostages are in Hamadan follows contradictory claims earlier this month that they were in Tehran. This is the first time it has been claimed they are in the hands of Revolutionary Guards. One of the sources has previously proved to be a reliable source of information about them.

It's pretty self explanatory what we are ALL up against...especially when you read the last line...

In his own words...............this is scary.............

This guy wants to be our President and control our government.

Pay close attention to the last comment!!

Below are a few lines from Obama's books " his words:

From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

From Dreams of My Father : "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race."

From Dreams of My Father: "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white."

From Dreams of My Father: ; "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

From Dreams of My Father: "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own.

It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."

From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

DEATH TO DICTATOR KHAMENEI (MOSTLY SPANISH) ISLAMIST MARXISTS AND MORE VIDEOS ON DEATH IN IRAN

Language comes second to the graphical messages and the tones of what is spoken in the videos

The first video is a militant call for death to the dictator Khamenei, Supreme Ruler of Islamic Iran and his oppression of the people. Posters of Che Guevarra appear as backdrop, giving away Marxist Islamist roots of the video makers, almost certainly the MEK (Mojaheddin-e Khalgh).

The next video shows various punishments in Islamic Iran, Stoning, Severing a Hand, Extracting an Eye and multiple Hangings all to the background of Khomeini speaking and repeatedly saying: "don't just expect us to provide you free water and electricity (free utilities he promised as perks before he returned to Iran), don't just ask us for subsidized meat and other food. We are responsible for your souls and spiritual well being, we are going to make you into human beings, bring you spiritual comfort, expand your spiritual well being, not just physical comforts, raise you to the level of human beings" (gist of the comments).

AND LEST WE FORGET, HERE IS A REPEAT VIEW ON THE AIRCRAFT BRINGING HIM BACK TO IRAN OF HIS RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION OF "WHAT DO YOU FEEL ABOUT RETURNING TO IRAN?" AND HIS REPLY OF "NOTHING!", which he repeats twice when an incredulous reporter cannot believe his ears and repeats the question.

IRAN NEWS BRIEFS

Many of you may have been wondering with all the activity in Iraq by the Mad Mahdis (Moqtada Al-Sadr's Shia, pro-Iran forces) what has happened to Mookie (al-Sadr) himself.

Previous reports had Mookie in a coma in a Tehran hospital with dire undercurrent remarks about his death being a strong possiblity - including what could be described as a "goodby letter" released by his office in Iraq.

AntiMullah sources were informed Mookie was not coming back to Iraq alive. However, apparently the decision to kill him has been cancelled and he is curently UNDER HOUSE ARREST in the holy city of Ghom, where he had recently gone to visit.

These reports indicate that the Islamic leaders of Iran have become worried that his continued attacks on Coalition forces, specially in South Iraq, though orchestrated by Iranian Ghods special forces who command and fight alongside the Mad Mahdis, will result in triggering an attack on Iran by the USA.

He has BECOME A BARGAINING CHIP and a hostage to apply leverage to his forces in Iraq.

************

Islamic Iran has been tagged as the country with the second highest number of executions in the world (more than one per day) after China (a bit over 400 a year). Saudi Arabia was next in line.

If you compare the population of Iran (about 70 million) with China's 1.3 Billion people, Iran's 377 executions proportionally kill vastly more of their own population than China as a percentage.

Amnesty International statistics can only reflect official executions while informal ones in Islamic Iran triples those numbers when events among the100 UNOFFICIAL prisons and torture chambers operated by various splinters of "security" groups are considered.

****************
TWO HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS in Oil Sales seem to have placed Islamic Iran and its population into financial and mental bankruptcy instead of comfort and easy life that the revenue should have provided.

Mismanagement is only one reason. A majority of military and industrial projects are being awarded to or funnelled through the Revolutionary Guards for already high amounts and then allowing virtually unlimited, uncontrolled cost overruns.

Moving payments around with UN banking restrictions increasingly taking hold, costs the Islamic Republic more but buying tons and tons of USELESS and defective imports from China at dumping prices - at the expense of local Iranian industry - to the extent of factories closing down throughout Iran - adds to the spending deficit.

Sometime ago, North Korea sent North Korean goods as barter payment for money they owed Iran. ALL of it went straight into dumpsters as none of it was usable! But the money was gone.

The other is the huge amounts used to fund terrorists and terrorism in general. Hezbollah alone received over a BILLION dollars from Islamic Iran. Syria has been given huge amounts to buy arms and to pass on to Hamas and Palestinian groups.

But it's not only Middle Eastern spending. Huge amounts flow into Russia, India and into South American Communist regimes: Venezuela, Cuba - and Sandanista Ortega just received $400 million.

The 70 million Iranians are governed by a few crooked, inept, thugs in charge, who waste the money the land produces on their own agendas and not those actions that are best for the populace.

Tired of sifting in garbage dumps to eat while the Mullahs waste money and live luxuriously, the people are ready to rise up BUT for whom? With whom? What leader is there for them to espouse, follow and expect to survive the Mullah suppression brigades and take over the country for them?

There is nobody prominent enough or in the pipeline nor does the monarchy, at best an umbrella referee in future politics, appear to want to step into the breach.

And until there is, don't expect Iranians to flood into the streets to literally face certain death and maiming, arrest, torture and rape, just for the sake of "freedom".

Their love for survival is currently stronger than their love for freedom.

In England a man and his son were denied access to a swimming pool because they were NOT Moslems. And would thus POLLUTE the water for Moslems by entering it.

A Moslem restaurant owner in England who was speeding so far above the speed limit that a suspension of his driving permit was an automatic result was let off by a judge when he pleaded that as a MOSLEM WITH TWO WIVES, he alternatively visited conjugally, he was speeding to get to the other in time.

Britain has accepted Moslem Sharia polygamy, including government assistance payments to all of them as with a single spouse, as long as those marriages were performed in a country that permits multiple wives.

FETHULLAH GULEN, TURKEY'S KHOMEINI, ABOUT TO ACT

Few U.S. policymakers have heard of Fethullah Gülen, perhaps Turkey's most prominent theologian and political thinker. Self-exiled for more than a decade, Gülen lives a reclusive life outside Philadelphia, Pa.

Within months, however, he may be as much a household a name in the United States as is Ayatollah Khomeini, a man who was as obscure to most Americans up until his triumphant return to Iran almost 30 years ago.

LOTS OF NEW ARTICLES IN THE PIPELINE

Greetings one and all. I had heard of poltergeists but over the past few days have run into that kind of energy around me. Not destructive but annoying and time consuming. Thus some very important information and articles, including Terror News have remained unposted.

Perhaps it is the inner maelstrom of information reaching me that has begun to surface as some cataclysmic events are beginning to take shape. No, nothing astrological in all this, just the inner brain sub-consciously sifting all the stuff I am hearing and analyzing.

Should catch up on everything by the weekend as I have longer distance assignments to carry out.

In the meantime there is a ton of stuff you probably have not read on the various pages of AntiMullah and this short hiatus may give you the chance to catch up too and browse around.

EXPLOSION IN SHIRAZ, IRAN MOSQUE

Last weekend news surfaced that a sizeable explosion rocked a mosque in Shiraz, a Central Iran city.

Iran news agencies initially reported a mere EIGHT deaths and a few wounded. They then escalated the situation to an unclear number of dead and wounded.

Next they suggested that explosives stored in the mosques from "a long time ago" had mysteriously exploded, avoiding any explanation of why arms, weapons and ammunition would have been stored in a place of worship.

This prevarication proved too much for AntiMullah and we contacted our own sources in Iran to find out the truth and came up with OVER 50 DEAD and OVER 200 wounded.

And the explosion is privately attributed to the MEK (Mojaheddin-e Khalgh) who had some 30,000 of their followers executed in prisons by Khomeini who gave orders to eradicate them in the 1980s.

Other sources said this was retaliation by Sunni Wahabis in response to a Sunni mosque that was destroyed in Mashhad a couple of years ago.

Truth be told nobody seems to know for sure and built in bias in the sources has shaded their response as to perpetrators but unanimity in casualties. And in the intent to shake up the ruling Mullahs for the event.

Feel free to post informative comments/opinions

LIST OF 433 POLITICAL PRISONERS IN ISLAMIC IRAN PRISONS

LIST OF POLITICAL PRISONERS CLICK HERE (Farsi .pdf)

and a photo below of Iran's John Q. Public (not everyone but a vast number who do not make it into the news, many of them EMPLOYEES who have not been paid for as long as NINE months to a year and have to find food for their families anyway they can).

As mentioned on Multilingual in Latinized Farsi, keep in mind, if anyone currently outside Iran is related to one of these prisoners, then they can be blackmailed into doing things for the regime - totally against their will - to protect the lives and physical well being (torture considerations) of their family members.

Such threats are an ongoing, daily part of life inside Iran and as leverage used against relatives who have either managed to flee abroad OR HAVE BEEN SENT as IRI agents and are kept under control this way.

MEANWHILE the Islamic regime is trying to make prison seem like paradise by making life on the outside as bad or worse. Here is a citizen scavenging for a PIECE OF BREAD.

WAKE TO MAJOR WARS THIS WEEKEND??

Alan Note:

Israel is going through repetitions of emergency procedures for its population and quick response reactions for their emergency organizations.

Moscow has announced/leaked intel that the USA has plans to attack/bomb Islamic Iran as early as April 10th - two days from now.

Ahmadi-Nejad the Turd announced Iran has a new cascade of improved centrifuges set up to refine uranium to weapons grade (for peaceful purpose of course).

The Moqtada Al-Sadr Mahdi army, Iran surrogates in southern Iraq tried to escalate warfare and got their backsides handed to them, thus failing to tie down American forces and avoid the bad news the Russians had leaked.

As usual the State Department wants to THANK Iran for reducing the flow of arms into Iraq and thus lowering the number of American deaths WHEREAS our military - boots on the ground assessment - as opposed to the State Department's desk jockeys, clearly evaluates Iran as not only providing arms, explosives to Iraq terrorists but also training and money and FIELD commanders to lead teh insurgents and the Mahdi Army recruits!

Once again, the POLITICAL, biased. often incapable desk jockeys, including many in the CIA want to impose their liberal opinions on soldiers fighting to win! And putting them in additional danger as the enemy is encouraged by these treacherous minions of the appeasement brigades.

And Syria has moved troops to block one of its borders.

And George Friedman writes as if Iran did not fully exist and participate in the equations:

The Arab-Israeli region of the Middle East is filled with rumors of war. That is about as unusual as the rising of the sun, so normally it would not be worth mentioning.

But like the proverbial broken clock that is right twice a day, such rumors occasionally will be true. In this case, we don’t know that they are true, and certainly it’s not the rumors that are driving us. But other things — minor and readily explicable individually — have drawn our attention to the possibility that something is happening.

The first thing that drew our attention was a minor, routine matter. Back in February, the United States started purchasing oil for its Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). The SPR is a reserve of crude oil stored in underground salt domes.

Back in February, it stood at 96.2 percent of capacity, which is pretty full as far as we are concerned. But the U.S. Department of Energy decided to increase its capacity. This move came in spite of record-high oil prices and the fact that the purchase would not help matters.

It also came despite potential political fallout, since during times like these there is generally pressure to release reserves. Part of the step could have been the bureaucracy cranking away, and part of it could have been the feeling that the step didn’t make much difference.

But part of it could have been based on real fears of a disruption in oil supplies. By itself, the move meant nothing. But it did cause us to become thoughtful.

Also in February, someone assassinated Imad Mughniyah, a leader of Hezbollah, in a car bomb explosion in Syria. It was assumed the Israelis had killed him, although there were some suspicions the Syrians might have had him killed for their own arcane reasons.

In any case, Hezbollah publicly claimed the Israelis killed Mughniyah, and therefore it was expected the militant Shiite group would take revenge. In the past, Hezbollah responded not by attacking Israel but by attacking Jewish targets elsewhere, as in the Buenos Aires attacks of 1992 and 1994.

In March, the United States decided to dispatch the USS Cole, then under Sixth Fleet command, to Lebanese coastal waters. Washington later replaced it with two escorts from the Nassau (LHA-4) Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), reportedly maintaining a minor naval presence in the area.

(Most of the ESG, on a regularly scheduled deployment, is no more than a few days sail from the coast, as it remains in the Mediterranean Sea.)

The reason given for the American naval presence was to serve as a warning to the Syrians not to involve themselves in Lebanese affairs.

The exact mission of the naval presence off the Levantine coast — and the exact deterrent function it served — was not clear, but there they were.

The Sixth Fleet has gone out of its way to park and maintain U.S. warships off the Lebanese coast.

Hezbollah leaders being killed by the Israelis and the presence of American ships off the shores of Mediterranean countries are not news in and of themselves. These things happen. The killing of Mughniyah is notable only to point out that as much as Israel might have wanted him dead, the Israelis knew this fight would escalate.

NOTE: As previously stated on AntiMullah the USA Special Forces were two hours away from extracting Mugniyeh ALIVE from Syria but were spotted at Beirut airport.

Condoleezza Rice confirmed the information to the Egyptians, who told the Syrians, who told the Iranian Mullahs, who then ordered Hezbollah to assassinate Muqniyeh rather than have him and the treasure trove of his knowledge fall into U.S. hands. But almost nobody would have known this.

So all we, the public, know is that whoever killed Mughniyah wanted to trigger a conflict.

The U.S. naval presence off the Levantine coast is notable in that Washington, rather busy with matters elsewhere, found the bandwidth to get involved here as well.

With the situation becoming tense, the Israelis announced in March that they would carry out an exercise in April called
Turning Point 2.

Once again, an Israeli military exercise is hardly interesting news. But the Syrians apparently got quite interested. After the announcement, the Syrians deployed three divisions — two armored, one mechanized — to the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Bekaa Valley, the western part of which is Hezbollah’s stronghold.

The Syrians didn’t appear to be aggressive. Rather, they deployed these forces in a defensive posture, in a way walling off their part of the valley.

The Syrians are well aware that in the event of a conventional war with Israel, they would experience a short but exciting life, as they say. They thus are hardly going to attack Israel.

The deployment therefore seemed intended to keep the Israelis on the Lebanese side of the border — on the apparent assumption the Israelis were going into the Bekaa Valley.

Despite Israeli and Syrian denials of the Syrian troop buildup along the border, Stratfor sources maintain that the buildup in fact happened. Normally, Israel would be jumping at the chance to trumpet Syrian aggression in response to these troop movements, but, instead, the Israelis downplayed the buildup.

When the Israelis kicked off Turning Point 2, which we regard as a pretty interesting name, it turned out to be the largest exercise in Israeli history. It involved the entire country, and was designed to test civil defenses and the ability of the national command authority to continue to function in the event of an attack with unconventional weapons — chemical and nuclear, we would assume.

This was a costly exercise. It also involved calling up reserves, some of them for the exercise, and, by some reports, others for deployment to the north against Syria. Israel does not call up reserves casually.

Reserve call-ups are expensive and disrupt the civilian economy. These appear small, but in the environment of Turning Point 2, it would not be difficult to mobilize larger forces without being noticed.

The Syrians already were deeply concerned by the Israeli exercise. Eventually, the Lebanese government got worried, too, and started to evacuate some civilians from the South. Hezbollah, which still hadn’t retaliated for the Mughniyah assassination, also claimed the Israelis were about to attack it, and reportedly went on alert and mobilized its forces.

The Americans, who normally issue warnings and cautions to everyone, said nothing to try to calm the situation. They just sat offshore on their ships.

It is noteworthy that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak canceled a scheduled visit to Germany this week. The cancellation came immediately after the reports of the Syrian military redeployment were released.

Obviously, Barak needed to be in Israel for Turning Point 2, but then he had known about the exercise for at least a month. Why cancel at the last minute?

While we are discussing diplomacy, we note that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney visited Oman — a country with close relations with Iran — and then was followed by U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

By itself not interesting, but why the high-level interest in Oman at this point?

Now let’s swing back to September 2007, when the Israelis bombed something in Syria near the Turkish border. As we discussed at the time, for some reason the Israelis refused to say what they had attacked.

It made no sense for them not to trumpet what they carefully leaked — namely, that they had attacked a nuclear facility. Proving that Syria had a secret nuclear program would have been a public relations coup for Israel.

Nevertheless, no public charges were leveled. And the Syrians remained awfully calm about the bombing.

Rumors now are swirling that the Israelis are about to reveal publicly that they in fact bombed a nuclear reactor provided to Syria by North Korea. But this news isn’t all that big.

Also rumored is that the Israelis will claim Iranian complicity in building the reactor. And one Israeli TV station reported April 8 that Israel really had discovered Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction, which it said had been smuggled to Syria.

Alan Note: Western intel has had the GPS co-ordinates of the locations of these silos and WMD storage bunkers in Syria (and others in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon) for several years now. But no clear excuse to do anything about it

Now why the Bush administration wouldn’t have trumpeted news of the Syrian reactor worldwide in September 2007 is beyond us, but there obviously were some reasons — assuming the TV report is true, which we have no way of establishing.

In fact, we have no idea why the Israelis are choosing this moment to rehash the bombing of this site. But whatever their reason, it certainly raises a critical question. If the Syrians are developing a nuclear capability, what are the Israelis planning to do about it?

No one of these things, by itself, is of very great interest. And taken together they do not provide the means for a clear forecast. Nevertheless, a series of rather ordinary events, taken together, can constitute something significant.

Tensions in the Middle East are moving well beyond the normal point, and given everything that is happening, events are moving to a point where someone is likely to take military action.

Whether Hezbollah will carry out a retaliatory strike or Israel a pre-emptive strike in Lebanon, or whether the Israelis’ real target is Iran, tensions systematically have been ratcheted up to the point where we, in our simple way, are beginning to wonder whether something has to give.

All together, these events are fairly extraordinary. Ignoring all rhetoric — and the Israelis have gone out of their way to say that they are not looking for a fight — it would seem that each side, but particularly the Americans and Israelis, have gone out of their way to signal that they are expecting conflict.

The Syrians have also signaled that they expect conflict, and Hezbollah always claims there is about to be conflict.

What is missing is this: who will fight whom, and why, and why now. The simple explanation is that Israel wants a second round with Hezbollah. But while that might be true, it doesn’t explain everything else that has happened.

Most important, it doesn’t explain the simultaneous revelations about the bombing of Syria. It also doesn’t explain the U.S. naval deployment.

Is the United States about to get involved in a war with Hezbollah, a war that the Israelis should handle themselves?

Are the Israelis going to topple Syrian President Bashar al Assad — and then wind up with a Sunni government, or worse, an Israeli occupation of Syria? None of that makes a lot of sense.

In truth, all of this may dissolve into nothing much. In intelligence analysis, however, sometimes a set of not-fully-coherent facts must be reported, and that is what we are doing now.

There is no clear pattern; there is no obvious direction this is taking. Nevertheless, when we string together events from February until now, we see a persistently escalating pattern of behavior.

In fact, what we can say most clearly is that there is escalation, without being able to say what is the clear direction of the escalation or the purpose.

We would like to wrap this up with a crystal clear explanation and forecast. But we can’t. The motives of the various actors are opaque; and taken separately, the individual events all have quite innocent explanations.

We are not prepared to say war is imminent, nor even what sort of war there would be. We are simply prepared to say that the course of events since February — and really since the September 2007 attack on Syria — have been startling, and they appear to be reaching some sort of hard-to-understand crescendo.

The bombing of Syria symbolizes our confusion. Why would Syria want a nuclear reactor and why put it on the border of Turkey, a country the Syrians aren’t particularly friendly with?

If the Syrians had a nuclear reactor, why would the Israelis be coy about it? Why would the Americans?

Having said nothing for months apart from careful leaks, why are the Israelis going to speak publicly now?

And if what they are going to say is simply that the North Koreans provided the equipment, what’s the big deal? That was leaked months ago.

The events of September 2007 make no sense and have never made any sense. The events we have seen since February make no sense either.

That is noteworthy, and we bring it to your attention. We are not saying that the events are meaningless. We are saying that we do not know their meaning. But we can’t help but regard them as ominous.

Friend Jim Note:

In it's last confrontation with Hamas, Israel got spanked, and they have a need to return the favor, to regain their self-confidence, and re-establish the fact that they reign supreme over Hezbollah.

Israel also believes that they must soon establish some control over Iran's nuclear program, because we American's won't do so now.

Israel can't deal with Hezbollah and Iran at the same time. It's a sure bet that if they hit Iran, Hezbollah will come after them full-tilt along with Hamas with its upgraded (compliments of Iran) weaponry.

The US Sixth fleet components are off of the coast of Lebanon to evacuate Americans from Lebanon, to help Israel logistically (battlefield intelligence), and perhaps lend a bit of support by guarding Israel's seaward flank.

The Abraham Lincoln battle group off of the coast of Oman are there to police Iran when Israel slams down onto Hezbollah.

Syria's massed forces along their border are to protect itself from Israel coming into Syria pursuing likely retreating Hezbollah forces when they get their asses kicked.

AND DAVID WURMSER WRITES HIS BRIEFING

What's at Stake for the West in Lebanon?

http://www.meforum.org/article/1878 (includes an audio recording of this talk)

David Wurmser is a specialist on the Middle East and served as an advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney until recently.

His prior positions included special assistant to John R. Bolton at the Department of State and a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

"Mr. Wurmser calls Lebanon a "key battleground between the West as a whole and the forces that seek to drag the Middle East down."

The situation in Lebanon must be viewed in the context of the larger conflict in the region, which is becoming far more dangerous.

Two years after the Cedar Revolution in March 2005, which was brought on by the assassination of Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, the Lebanese are still living through a tragedy. The inability to install a new president today is indicative of the situation.

It is because of the size and success of the popular demonstrations by the Lebanese, however, that Lebanon has become the focal point of the enemies of the West, namely Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah.

Mr. Wurmser focused on the Iranian strategy toward Lebanon, arguing that Iran is undergoing a transformation, not in the direction of reform as the West hopes, but from a pure theocracy toward a "theo-fascist state on the edge of an even more aggressive foreign policy."

This transformation in Iranian politics, according to Mr. Wurmser, is being played out in Lebanon and in Gaza.

Top American officials have made statements to the effect that U.S. and U.N. sanctions have hurt the Iranian regime, and that the support for former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and other figures deemed "moderate" in the December 2006 elections indicated the weakening of the Iranian regime.

Mr. Wurmser asserts that this perception is false because it ignores the real indicators.

Rather, a new power structure is emerging in Iran that is closely aligned with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

For example, Ahmadinejad fired many government officials and replaced them with a group of hard-core members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Mr. Wurmser singled out Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejehei, whom Ahmadinejad placed in control of Intelligence, who espouses an aggressive anti-Western foreign policy and supports terrorism; and Saeed Jalili, whom Ahmadinejad appointed as head nuclear negotiator for Iran, is a veteran of the IRGC who was mutilated in the Iran-Iraq war.

Mr. Wurmser traced several of Ahmadinejad's actions to Jalili's 1990 book, Foreign Policy of the Prophet, arguing that Jalili's writings, though they describe the time of Muhammad, are a blueprint for Iran today.

Jalili cites an episode in which Muhammad told his followers to proselytize, not negotiate.

In this spirit, Ahmedinejad has fired ambassadors and replaced them with more proselytizing ones. Jalili wrote about how Muhammad and his successors sent letters out to other tribes telling them to "convert or you will face the sword," as well as to major powers in Byzantium and Persia.

Mr. Wurmser linked this to Ahmedinejad's sending similar letters to President Bush. He pointed out how the "language is lifted straight out of Jalili's book, and that, in fact, "Jalili is the mind behind Ahmedinejad."

Mr. Wurmser analyzed tensions between IRGC officers and the ayatollahs whom the officers believe "betrayed the will of Allah" when they signed the treaty ending the Iran-Iraq war.

A separate group of ayatollahs, based in Mashhad in northeastern Iran, sees itself as true believers. This group considers the current state of Islam to be weak, and it seeks to expose the West as "a collapsing, hollow tree."

It expects the imminent return of the Twelfth Imam, the hidden Imam at the center of the Twelver Sh'ia movement of Islam. (Alan Note: Hojatieh sect of Islam led by Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi who is Ahmadi-Nejad's spiritual guide and mentor).

Its version of Islam is messianic and apocalyptic, and according to Mr. Wurmser, it provides the ideological basis for Iran's shift to a more aggressive and risk-seeking stance against the West.

He also identified a radical change in Iranian's notion of Islam. While the Iranian revolution defended Shi'ite interests and opposed Arab nationalism, over the past four years, "Iran has made a bold move to co-opt Arab nationalism."

The Arab-Israeli conflict has become a key issue on which Iran can attempt to seize leadership of the Islamic world from the Sunnis and Arabs.

A central part of Iran's national policy, Mr. Wurmser asserted, is to have an active war with Israel, be victorious, and seize leadership of the Muslim world.

Iran's success at assuming the mantle of Islam is evident in that in the past two or three years, Muslim Brotherhood leaders have recognized that Shi'ites are true Muslims, a concept that they had vehemently opposed previously.

Mr. Wurmser argued that Iran needs Syria in order to co-opt Sunni politics and Arab nationalism. He called Syria a "geographic gateway for Iran to be a player in the Arab-Israeli conflict," and through this, to maintain the appearance of a successful Iranian revolution.

Ahmadinejad came to power because it was thought that the Iranian revolution was weak. If Syria collapses, Mr. Wurmser thinks Iran will implode and that Syria is the avenue through which to attack Iran.

Gaza is also a battleground for Iran, said Wurmser, citing that 80% of terrorist activity in Gaza is committed by a force trained in Iran that answers directly to Damascus and Tehran.

Mr. Wurmser considers things to have gone well for Ahmadinejad in the last few months. He compared Ahmadinejad's bold opposition to the West and accusations of cowardliness on the part of followers who urge a more cautious policy to the way Hitler galvanized his generals in the 1930s by accusing them of lack of will.

Disturbingly, each crisis increases Ahmadinejad's reputation as his supporters rally round him.

Alan Note: but those supportes are becoming fewer and fewer inside Iran to the point the the Commander of the Bassiji Suppression forces has been appointed OVER the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards with a mission to suppress the enemy within rather than focus on external threats.

In his recommendation for American foreign policy, Mr. Wurmser stressed that the United States must take into account how its policies are perceived in the Middle East.

In 2003, when the United States acquiesced to the European acceptance of the Iranian regime as a legitimate interlocutor on nuclear issues, the Iranians read this as tacit acceptance and, therefore, weakness.

During the same year, when the U.N. sanctioned the American presence in Iraq, Iran saw this as weakness on the American part because the superpower asked for permission to strike.

Mr. Wurmser described the summer of 2003 as a "key moment, because the momentum the Iranian people were building against the regime was punctured by perceived American weakness."

On the question of what concrete things the United States can do to support democracy in Lebanon, Mr. Wurmser emphasized the need for swift response to the assassinations of Lebanese leaders. At least six government officials have been killed since Hariri, but the U.S. response has been slow and ineffective.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah and Syria are "killing the Lebanese government out of existence." Mr. Wurmser concluded that "the United States can have an effect if we show we are committed to acting to preserve what happened in March 2005" when the Lebanese staged the Cedar Revolution.
