Pfc. Manning: Poster boy
for 'don't ask, don't tell'
Ann Coulter warns, beware of Army men who bring 'a spice rack to basic training'

The two biggest stories this week are WikiLeaks' continued publication of classified government documents, which did untold damage to America's national security interests, and the Democrats' fanatical determination to repeal "don't ask, don't tell" and allow gays to serve openly in the military.
The mole who allegedly gave WikiLeaks the mountains of secret documents is Pfc. Bradley Manning, Army intelligence analyst and angry gay.
We've heard 1 billion times about the Army translator who just wanted to serve his country, but was cashiered because of whom he loved.
I'll see your Army translator and raise you one Bradley Manning.
According to Bradley's online chats, he was in "an awkward place" both "emotionally and psychologically." So in a snit, he betrayed his country by orchestrating the greatest leak of classified intelligence in U.S. history.
Isn't that in the Army Code of Conduct? You must follow orders at all times. Exceptions will be made for servicemen in an awkward place. Now, who wants a hug? "Waitress! Three more apple-tinis!"
According to the New York Times, Bradley sought "moral support" from his "self-described drag queen" boyfriend. Alas, he still felt out of sorts. So why not sell out his country?
In an online chat with a computer hacker, Bradley said he lifted the hundreds of thousands of classified documents by pretending to be listening to a CD labeled "Lady Gaga." Then he acted as if he were singing along with her hit song "Telephone" while frantically downloading classified documents.
I'm not a military man, but I think singing along to Lady Gaga would constitute "telling" under "don't ask, don't tell."
Do you have to actually wear a dress to be captured by the Army's "don't ask, don't tell" dragnet?
Ann Coulter's scathing book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America" -- now just $4.95, while supplies last!
What constitutes being "openly" gay now? Bringing a spice rack to basic training? Attending morning drills decked out as a Cher impersonator? Following Anderson Cooper on Twitter?
Also, U.S. military, have you seen a picture of Bradley Manning? The photo I've seen is only from the waist up, but you get the feeling that he's wearing butt-less chaps underneath. He looks like a guy in a soldier costume at the Greenwich Village Halloween parade.
With any luck, Bradley's court-martial will be gayer than a Liza Minelli wedding. It could be the first court-martial in U.S. history to feature ice sculptures and a "Wizard of Oz"-themed gazebo. "Are you going to Bradley's court-martial? I hear Patti LaBelle is going to sing!"
Maybe there's a reason gays have traditionally been kept out of the intelligence services, apart from the fact that closeted gay men are easy to blackmail. Gays have always been suspicious of that rationale, and perhaps they're right.
The most damaging spies in British history were the Cambridge Five, also called "the "Magnificent Five": Kim Philby, Guy Burgess, Anthony Blunt, Donald Maclean and John Cairncross. They were highly placed members of British intelligence, all secretly working for the KGB.
The only one who wasn't gay was Philby. Burgess and Blunt were flamboyantly gay. Indeed, the Russians set Burgess up with a boyfriend as soon as he defected to the Soviet Union.
The Magnificent Five's American compatriot, Michael Straight, was – ironically – bisexual, as was Whittaker Chambers, at least during the period that he was a spy. And of course, there's David Brock.
So many Soviet spies were gay that, according to intelligence reporter Phillip Knightley, the Comintern was referred to as "the Homintern." (I would have called it the "Gay G.B.")
Bradley's friends told the Times they suspected "his desperation for acceptance – or delusions of grandeur" may have prompted his document dump.
Let's check our "Gay Profile at a Glance" and ... let's see ... desperate for acceptance ... delusions of grandeur ... yep, they're both on the gay subset list!
Obviously, the vast majority of gays are loyal Americans – and witty and stylish to boot! But a small percentage of gays are going to be narcissistic hothouse flowers like Bradley Manning.
Couldn't they just work for JetBlue? America would be a lot safer right now if gays in an "awkward place" psychologically could do no more damage than grabbing a couple of beers and sliding down the emergency chute.
Look at the disaster one gay created under our punishing "don't ask, don't tell" policy. What else awaits America with the overturning of a policy that was probably put there for a reason (apart from being the only thing Bill Clinton ever did that I agreed with)?
Liberals don't care. Their approach is to rip out society's foundations without asking if they serve any purpose.
Why do we have immigration laws? What's with these borders? Why do we have the institution of marriage, anyway? What do we need standardized tests for? Hey, I like Keith Richards – why not make heroin legal? Let's take a sledgehammer to all these load-bearing walls and just see what happens!
For liberals, gays in the military is a win-win proposition. Either gays in the military works, or it wrecks the military, both of which outcomes they enthusiastically support.
But since you brought up gays in the military, liberals, let's talk about Bradley Manning. He apparently released hundreds of thousands of classified government documents as a result of being a gay man in "an awkward place."
Any discussion of "don't ask, don't tell" should begin with Bradley Manning. Live by the sad anecdote, die by the sad anecdote.
MORE ON BRADLEY MANNING:
Bradley Manning, suspected source of Wikileaks documents, raged on his Facebook page.....
Bradley Manning, the prime suspect in the leaking of the Afghan war files, raged against his US Army employers and “society at large” on his Facebook page in the days before he allegedly downloaded thousands of secret memos, The Daily Telegraph has learnt.
The US Army intelligence analyst, who is half British and went to school in Wales, appeared to sink into depression after a relationship break-up, saying he didn’t “have anything left” and was “beyond frustrated”.
In an apparent swipe at the army, he also wrote: “Bradley Manning is not a piece of equipment,” and quoted a joke about “military intelligence” being an oxymoron.
Mr Manning, 22, who is currently awaiting court martial, is suspected of leaking more than 90,000 secret military documents to the Wikileaks website in a security breach which US officials claim has endangered the lives of serving soldiers and Afghan informers.
Supporters claim the war logs leak exposed civilian deaths in Afghanistan which had been covered up by the military, and Mr Manning’s family, who live in Pembrokeshire, said he had “done the right thing”.
The Pentagon, which is investigating the source of the leak, is expected to study Mr Manning’s background to ascertain if they missed any warnings when he applied to join the US Army. The postings on his Facebook page are also likely to form part of the inquiry.
Mr Manning, who is openly homosexual, began his gloomy postings on January 12, saying: “Bradley Manning didn’t want this fight. Too much to lose, too fast.”
At the beginning of May, when he was serving at a US military base near Baghdad, he changed his status to: “Bradley Manning is now left with the sinking feeling that he doesn’t have anything left.”
Five days later he said he was “livid” after being “lectured by ex-boyfriend”, then later the same day said he was “not a piece of equipment” and was “beyond frustrated with people and society at large”.
His tagline on his personal page reads: “Take me for who I am, or face the consequences!”
Mr Manning was arrested at the end of May on suspicion of leaking a video of a US helicopter attack, and quickly became the main suspect when the Afghan war documents were leaked earlier this week.
His uncle, Kevin Fox, said the soldier’s arrest and imprisonment in a military jail had taken its toll on his mother Susan, who lives in Haverfordwest.
“She hasn’t been well,” he said, adding that if Mr Manning had leaked the documents: “I think the boy did the right thing.”
Another close relative, who asked not to be named, said: “His mum didn’t know anything about what he was doing and it’s come as a big shock. She’s very upset.”
Susan Manning, 56, moved to the US in 1979 after marrying Bradley’s American father Brian Manning, a former serviceman who was based at the Cawdor Barracks in Brawdy, near Haverfordwest.
Bradley Manning was born in Oklahoma but the couple divorced in 2001 and Mrs Manning moved back to Wales with her son, who sat his GCSEs at the Tasker Milward secondary school in Haverfordwest.
Joseph Staples, Mr Manning’s uncle by marriage, said: “It’s one of those Catch 22 situations, because freedom of speech is great but if you do something that endangers other people’s lives then I can understand why you’re going to get flattened by the American military.
“Some people are saying that Bradley was a trouble-maker but he was anything but. He was just an introverted kid who loved computers and was fired up politically.”
Scott Lewis, a former classmate, said: “He was a bit hot-headed. If there was something he didn’t agree with, he spoke up about it.”
Other school contemporaries recalled him as a computer “nerd” who had a difficult relationship with his father.
Jenna Morris, a 23-year-old sales manager who went on holiday to Disney World in Florida with Bradley and his cousins, said: “He was a quiet lad and he’d had a tough upbringing.
“His parents had an acrimonious divorce. He didn’t get on well with his dad; they had quite a volatile relationship. His dad was very strict and shouted at him a lot.
“He had a tough time when he came back here with his mum because moving to another country after a break-up was hard. He was quite a loner and he didn’t really have a lot of friends. He had quite a bit of trouble at school and was picked on, but he didn’t care.”
James Kirkpatrick, who became friendly with him through their shared interest in computers, said: “I last contacted him about six months ago. He didn’t mention anything about what was happening, but at the same time he did seem a bit secretive, he was being a bit paranoid about what we spoke about on the net.
“He wouldn’t mention anything about what he was doing in the army and what he thought of it.”
Pictures on Mr Manning’s Facebook page include photos of him on school trips during his time in Wales and at a gay rights rally, where he is holding up a placard demanding equality on “the battlefield”.
Yesterday Mr Manning, who is reportedly on suicide watch, was transferred from a military jail in Kuwait to a prison in Washington DC, as the Pentagon called in the FBI to assist in the hunt for the source of the leak.
Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the leakers “might already have on their hands the blood of some young soldier or that of an Afghan family” because, he said, the leaked documents included the names of Afghan informants.
COMMENTARY
Bradley Manning was PROBABLY born a female. Look at the face, and the fact that “Bradley” is 5’2” tall which is in the normal range for females, and would be considered in the midget range for males.
This is a transexual who got into the military due to DADT (don't ask don't tell). I don’t care about gays in the military but we need to know whether people are gays or not and this is one of the problems here. No one asked, but this is definitely a female figure. Bradley probably isn’t even her real name.
it is reported that this soldier was disciplined for "inappropriate behavior". The sad truth is that in years past someone with his profile would not get a clearance because of their vulerability to compromise national security to further their political/social cause. Also folks like that tend to get frustrated very easily with the “Army Ways”. Which makes them more of a risk. It is no shock to me that this soldier has violated UCMJ by disclosing classified data.
Bottom line if DADT is overturned and LGBT (lesbian, gay. bisexual, transgender) folks are allowed to have access to classified information we can expect more of the same in the years to come.
Hard to ignore the parallel to Oba-Hussein's (at best) triple British (paternal)/(maybe) American /Indonesian (adopted) nationalities and alleged claims of his gay/bi-sexual (at best) preferences his special "body-man" Reggie Love and Oba-Hussein's lack of loyalty to America.
Ann Coulter, I’ll see your Bradley Manning and raise you one John Walker Jr.

Here is an argument why straight married white guys with families should to be allowed to serve either... or for that matter have any access to classified material
I don't agree but have your say.
ReplyDeletewell of course not... we all know you have to hold gay pfc's to a much higher standard then straight career CWO's who earned millions selling out our country while actually harming our national defense....
ReplyDeleteespecially if your looking for any reason at all o discriminate against gays
You sound like an advocate of NOT profiling the likely TSA suspects and avoiding the somewhat useless procedures.
ReplyDeleteAs with the TSA I do not fully agree with either side of that debate but historically the most common spies bought by national intelligence organizations have been gay men - not gay women.
As such profilling Arab passengers as a primary action for airline passengers - based on historical information, applies here to gay men getting or not getting clearances.
Does not mean that Arabs are all terrorists nor gay men all spies but the likelihood factor is more prevalent in both examples and should merit consideration in actions to prevent either type of unlawful activity.
Nor as far as I know is Wikileak's Assange gay but if he were that would blow a huge hole in your protest, simply on size and damage of the case. Proclivity for a type of behavior is not a label but common sense to be considered rather than deneid our of hand.
Similar to something thrown into a man's lap will usually bring his knees together to catch it, while with women, often used to wearing a skirt, she would part her knees to catch the object in her skirt. Proclivity.
Let's agree to disagree. End of this discussion for me (lack of time)
Actually I am an advocate of Israeli style boarding interviews...
ReplyDeleteWikileak's Assange is not gay, that is part of his legal problems... he has be accused of sexual assault by 2 WOMEN in Sweden.
You don't seem to do very good independent research, because if you did, you would know that historical... spy's have been straight white men.
Major Andre... Ethan Allen... Von Papen... Klause Fuchs.... and John Walker Jr... were all straight... white men...
So if we are going to profile lets profile those whose have proven to be the offenders and not just go bashing gays....
