OBAMA health care first 100 days

by Connie Hair

07/08/2010

The only two U.S. Senator physicians have released a blistering oversight report examining the first 100 days of Obamacare implementation.

Sens. Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Okla.) and John Barrasso, M.D. (R-Wyo.) offer their expert, detailed assessment of the problems with the new law and the resulting disastrous consequences.

“As supporters of cost-effective, common-sense health reform, but staunch opponents of the legislation that passed Congress earlier this year, this report presents the American people with a check-up about the side effects and the implications of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as it begins to be implemented,” Coburn and Barrasso said in the report.

Their report, entitled “Bad Medicine: A Check-Up on the New Federal Health Law,” is available in full at the link.

The report details:

• Sixteen million Americans are forced into Medicaid, a program that denies care and yields lower health outcomes for patients, and for which there are minimal physicians to deliver care.

• American citizens will be forced to purchase costlier health care or pay a tax; illegal immigrants will continue to get free care and those costs will be shifted onto Americans.

• Uninsured Americans will now be considered violators of the law and could face harassment by the IRS.

• The new health law increases the cost of health care and insurance.

• Millions of Americans will lose their current health plan as employers either drop coverage or purchase more expensive, government-dictated health insurance.

Coburn and Barrasso write in their report:

“More than a year ago, our country began a national conversation about how to best reform our nation’s health care system. We were both early advocates for real health reform that would lower costs, empower patients, and increase access. We proposed health reform ideas that would ensure all Americans had access to affordable coverage.”

“The passage of the new law is a lost historic opportunity. However, we hope the American people will not give up on their desire for sustainable health reform but will hold their elected leaders accountable to work together to craft common-sense, bipartisan, step-by-step reforms. We believe that real reform begins with replacing the new law with sensible provisions that will lower costs, increase patient control, and put affordable, high quality coverage within the grasp of every American.”

“The intention of this report is to highlight some of problems with the law and its consequences. After 100 days after passage, the report reveals new information and goes through a litany of problems with this flawed legislation.”

The Obama/Democrat Health Care Bill/Law needs to be euthanized.

Good medicine, bad medicine: it's irrelevant. Obamacare is unconstitutional. My Attorney General and many others will fight this in court and we will win.

Where was Barrasso during the fight? He was strangely silent. Kind of like the other Wyoming do-nothing Senator Enzi.

What do you expect with this man that calls himself President! He is the most evil, un-American and unethical man elected to office in our history. Sometimes I wonder when the military will do a takeover! Oh well, November is coming and "We The People" can do something good and Patriotic by voting all the "bums" out of Washington, and soon Obama will be next to go!!

Well... my state, Missouri, is doing something about it,

thanks to our state hero Lt. Gov. Kinder. Missouri will be the first state to have a vote to deny the government authority to penalize citizens for refusing to purchase insurance.

If the Gallup 2010 generic ballot (July 7, 2010) and the reporting of Republican and Democrate voting enthusiasm is a true indicator, I think there is a good chance of some real change.

Mr. Velazquez,

Thank you for your patriotic comments. I share your sentiments. But haven't you heard that since you are of Hispanic descent the president and his minions in congress have "deemed" your vote to belong to the democratic party! How dare you vote against our progressive ruler! you can expect to hear from the Hispanic caucus in congress demanding that you change your vote!

Sorry for the warped sense of humor but I am at my ends with our despicably corrupt president!

If the party of whiners and complainers (R) would have gave any input for a better healthcare plan maybe a good plan would have come into existance.

It just seems that the republicans don't care about their fellow citizens in the U.S.A.

Myself I have coverage but I sure don't like to see people trying to live their lives while they are sick. Emergency rooms only take emergencys and not someone with an on going condition like an 11 year old boy that I know.

Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University . They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

What about Sen. Frith, M. D. from Tennessee? He is famous for saving Gen Petraus's life after his shooting accident a while ago. I think that he will replace Dingy Harry in November, too, so don't forget him.

Willis, you epitomize the term "DUMBASS" as you are either a liar or a total dumbass cool aid drinker. From day one on Obamacare the Republicans HAD and alternative Bill which they attempted to introduce numerous times. Obama shut them down without even a consideration of a vote. They had NUMEROUS revisions to the current Bill which Obama shut down in their entirety with NO consideration of inclusions. Obama's EXTREME bipartisan stance has excluded the Republicans from any input on ANYTHING. You sir are dumbass Marxist. Move to Cuba dumbass.

There are some exclusions for Muslims and the Amish. Anyone should be able top opt out instead of being forced to purchase federally mandated insurance with all of the coverage requirements that needlessly drive up costs. There are some faith based medical plan that do allow an individual to opt out.

14 days after the signing of Obamacare,my insurance premium increased 40%. That's an increase that has put a squeeze on my entire family. That increase is in effect until Jan. 1 2011 and then it "may " increase an additional 8%. For me that's a total cost of $90 a month. With the new county taxes that were passed this year and the purposed tax increase on a referendum in November by the local school board my increase in taxes for 12 months will go to $500. That's $590 so far I will have to pick off a money tree to pay. Cause my income decreased by $100 a month. November can't come soon enough for me.

Republicans did put forth a much better plan. Several of them actually. And all of them constitutional.

i'm tired of taking care of the so called poor. When you add up all the feebees these "poor people" get you would be surprised at

how poor they are. Most of them make more than the person going to work every day and paying taxes. We make it too easy for these

so called poor to not try to help themselves.

They never will help themselves as long as the do gooders do it for them using our hard earned taxes.mehpensacola,fl
