The traditional Zoroastrian Persian New Year, coinciding with the first day of Spring and the "renewal" of mother earth, has been the Iranian New Year, running from roughly March 20th to March 19th with months approximating the signs of the Zodiac, from around the 18th or so of each of our months to the 20th of the next. February has had 28 days for thousands of years!
Under increasing pressure from the populace, the Mullah regime has complained that traditional culture - predating Islam by thousands of years - should no longer be followed NOR allowed as "the people" want Islam and only Islam. And anything that "is not written in the Koran - DOES NOT EXIST AND IS INVALID".
Yes! Fundemental Islamists, proponents and Mullahs trying to exercise power through imposing Mohammad's "Allah" to naive and often uneducated peoples, who can barely read and write their own language let alone the Arabic that the clerics insist is the only language of the Koran, insist that most of science, technology, evolving culture and social progress in the world CANNOT exist because it is not "written" (1,400 years ago) by Mohammad, who also could NOT READ NOR WRITE and contrary to historical facts, claim this as a miracle in its own right!
One of the many reasons that only a handful of animals of the world "exist" as they - such as prolific rabbits - had never been seen by him in his deserts, so could not be described by him.
IGNORING the copyright method of those days of inserting a code by the author into the text which was not easily found but proved who wrote it and is the code of an Iranian, Mohammad tasked to write the Koran. To avoid being seen this was done in hiding in the mountains! (The code shows up in the Koran claimed to be the "original" under the code he used within other texts he wrote and was known as "the Iranian").
Following in Islamic Iran footsteps of suppressing the culture and history of their country, Obama is ardently pushing to make similar radical changes in America and seeing how this has not always worked in Iran, has issued an Executive Order to confront any protests in the USA. Some say he is planning to create some of these (Occupty Wall Street being a trial run) to be able to assume the broad reaching powers which do NOT rise to the level of "wartime" emergencies.
This kind of protest against the usurping Islamic regime came about at huge risk inside the BRUTAL regime of Iran, in the city of Shiraz, where this gathering of several thousand Persians/Iranians for the change/arrival of the Persian New Year (not at midnight as in the West but when the moon is seen by senior clerics), has thenm singing the national anthem now banned by the Mullahs.
